Pay Day

That was on my desk on Thursday.

WHY??

Umm...simply...It was PayDay.

After 14 years of being a stay at home mom.

I got my first paycheck.

Now...I have always had a job...just not a full time job.

Don't get all excited...I'm a secretary for pete's sake.

But for me...it was fulfilling.

Felt good.

And yes...I ate that PayDay.

It tasted good.

Boys of Fall

We are not a BIG sports family....I guess compared to most families atleast.

But we do love football, one particular little team called

Owasso 5th grade RED...especially #66 on the left there....

I've been playing with my new camera & taking pics of his team.

And a few of him at home.
Experimenting with my aperture.

Then my filters on Photoshop Elements

Does he look tough or what?
He is getting so big.

This is how we spend our evenings & Saturdays.
Watching this not so little football player out on the field.
I have a jersey I wear w/ his name & number
along with a really neat O Rams necklace my
friend Tracy gave me. :)

Yea...that's me.
One proud Ram Mom.

7 days...no mercy. One goal

Jaden wanted this a new airsoft gun, and since he doesn't get allowance yet...he has no money.

I came up with a goal...a strategy for him to earn the gun...the prize if you will.

Can I be real honest...It was one I thought he would never accomplish.

Here is the simple task he has to perform for 7 solid days. No mercy...no grace.

1. Turn off his light when he leaves his room.
2. Turn off the bathroom light.
3. Hang up his towel.
4. Turn off the TV when he walks out of the room.
5. Turn off his fan & radio in the morning.

I know...simple...but. not. for. Jaden.

I keep a chart & every day we would find his light on...he would have to start over on day ONE.

After 3 weeks of trying...he made it to the 6th day. I was astonished to say the least.
At this point I was praying he made it one more day. I didn't want to be a softy & let him slide.
I wanted him to truly earn the gun.

And he did...

Wonders never cease to amaze me.

I have tried for years for this boy to accomplish these task...all it took was the right
motivation. If we find his lights on, he loses the gun for a day. So there is still motivation
for him to complete these task.

Motivation...when you set your mind on the prize...you can accomplish anything.

Looks like he set an example for me to follow.

HBTU!! Stone Canyon!

On August 22, 2010 we launched our second campus....

Stone Canyon
A couple of weeks ago we celebrated our first year...hard to believe how fast a year
can came & went. I have been blown away at what God has done thru this
campus. They are running about 170 & so many people are excited about
what God is doing in our community thru Stone Canyon.

Bobby & Liz have made it thru their first year of ministry....they DID GREAT!
Love this sweet family!!

It was a great day...filled with fun & community!
