Working mom

Well the next two weeks I will be a full time working mom. I haven't done that since...oh since Lauren was born! I am a little nervous...but excited at the same time. I have always been blessed to be able to stay at home with the kids. I worked at our preschool for 11 years, but that was only 2 days a week. I can't imagine working full time and keeping up with the kids activities and ministry. I have always loved helping Matt in his ministry and feel blessed I have always been able to be a part of it. I don't think there is a mom out there that has regretted staying at home with her kids. I think as they get older it is even more important for you to be there!! I am so blessed to have a husband that isn't money driven and doesn't insist that I have a full time job. He has always driven old crappy cars so we wouldn't have to be tied down to a payment. Last year...he bought my dad's 1997 ford pick-up...and he was so happy...I was so happy for him. He finally had a vehicle that was decent. The funny thing about it is...it is 11 years old and he loves it...so many men out there wouldn't be happy with their father-in-laws old truck. But to Matt is was amazing. The most amazing part now is...it is paid for!! Anyway...in saying all of this...I think people decide what is important to them and do it. I always get annoyed when people live in nice houses and drive nice cars and complain about how they have no money when I know they make way more than us. We are going thru the Crown Financial Series with our life group. If you haven't done this...I totally encourage you to do it soon. It is only week 2 and it has already made me rethink so much about our finances and how we spend out money. So I am working full time for 2 weeks...do I have to..no...but that is the point...we aren't rakin in the bucks in the ministry...but God has provided for our needs and so much more than we ever deserve. I encourage you to stop...take a look around and realize how great you have it. Here are the 2 scriptures we have had to memorize in the Crown Financial Series...think about them...
Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of worldly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? Luke 16:11
Everything in the heavens and earth is yours O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone and you are the Ruler of all mankind. Your Hand controls power and might and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength. 1 Chron. 29:1-12
YEA...I  memorized them! I was shocked I could do that long one..
So in saying all of this...where is your focus..here is a good quote
"We need money to live, but we shouldn't live for money"
I'll let you know how I survive the 2 weeks!!! Pray for me!

  2. Well Steph you did get a break and no school tomorrow. So that is a good thing. Get caught up on the housework while you can and then start back to full time again. :) I hope it goes well. I totally agree with you and being able to stay home. Being in the ministry doesn't make money but being with you Kids makes memories I will never forget. It is such a huge blessing to watch God provide for us when sometimes you wonder how it is happening. :) I love you girl and I am so thankful that you have been here for me through everything. Love ya girl.
