For the last few months my Iphoto has consistently asked me
"your start up disk for Iphoto is almost full....do you still want to upload these pics?
Umm...of course I do...duh?
It's confession time....
I . have . over 25,000 pictures in my Iphoto....
No wonder it's full.
I have already deleted about 3,000 nonsense pics and it's still full.
SO I had to take action...quick... Ok as quit as Matt T. would let me.
We have an external hard drive that I back up my computer on...we use it as
a time machine so I have everything on it.
But I needed a photo storage hard drive...Got one at Best Buy.
Was that safe enough for all my precious pics???
What if it crashed??? NO!!!
That's when a friend of mine recommended Photobucket.
It's an online storage site for your pics....love it.
I have been uploading all my pics on there then I'm gonna dump them onto
my external hard drive for safety.
Now I can sleep at night... knowing my sweet little 25,000 pics are safely tucked away
online & on a hard drive. Shooooweee....sigh of relief. Though it's gonna take me
FOREVER TO GET THEM UPLOADED!! LOL!
HOW about you? How do you store your pics?
I had this very thing happen to me in December so......guess what I got for Christmas??!!?? The Apple Time Machine! LOL We got the big one and it automatically backs up my computer every hour or something crazy like that so I don't ever have to think about it :) Soooo nice!! Just FYI~ even though I uploaded them or downloaded however you want to say it I still had to go in and clear them out if you know what I mean?? If not, text me and I will ask Brian what exactly he did ok !! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteYour count of pictures in Iphoto also counts your trashed photos so make sure you empty your trash. I had that problem too. I love my external hard drive. i have everything organized so well there :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I have GOT to get this done - it's been on my "to do" list for over a year now - thanks for the reminder.
